I remember reading in an interview with Bert once that Absynthe Minded's third album There Is Nothing was created with the big stage in mind and I can see why. I never understood the hype over Plane Song and Stuck in Reverse until I watched the live versions on YouTube and was promptly blown away and now as I listen to them nearly every day, I have to beg forgiveness for ever doubting it! The album certainly feels more like a rock album, violin is disguised as an electric guitar, piano and organ are often replaced with a second guitar but there's also I'll Be Alight, a quiet little song with heartbreaking lyrics and a stunning outro. Speaking of stunning outros, A Great Height is on this album, recorded in front a live audience (who are singing and cheering at the end), its catchy hook of 'la la la la la' is one of the highlights of the album. Discuss There Is Nothing here!
