Renaud is often referred to as the 'secret weapon' of Absynthe Minded and it's easy to see why. His sweeping violin scores often bring Bert's lyrics to life and add a beautiful quality that would be sorely missed. A true master of his instrument, Renaud plays masterful pizzicato pieces, strums it like an electric guitar and even uses it for percussion. The effects he sometimes uses on it make it unrecognisable as a traditional violin, but it also doesn't sound like anything else, ensuring Absynthe Minded's unique sound. Renaud also manages to make time for keys, trumpet, harmonica and backing vocals and has an excellent collection of hats. This is the thread for everyone's favourite hat wearing violinist!

Renaud (and Jakob for that matter) can also be heard on Sioen's first album 'See You Naked'. Sioen's most famous hit is probably Cruisin' where Renaud can been heard (and briefly seen) below.
